Call for Board Members: Join the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber’s Board of Directors

In accordance with our Bylaws, the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber is seeking new members to join our dynamic Board of Directors.

For the fiscal year 2025, we have three (3) Board of Directors positions available, each with a two-year term. We are looking for individuals who are actively engaged in the community and hold decision-making roles within their organizations. Nominees should be ready to represent the LGBT and allied businesses of Tampa Bay and demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering growth and change, thereby strengthening the economic vitality of the region.

In particular, we are seeking representatives from the legal, finance, and healthcare sectors.

Candidate application will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee, and a slate of nominees will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval.


The mission of the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber is to advance common business interests, economic growth, and equality in the workplace and society for its LGBT and allied businesses, corporations and professional members by providing educational, networking, and community engagement.

Since 1983, the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber has been premier voice of the Greater Tampa Bay Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender business community, representing over 400+ businesses, community groups and individuals in seven counties, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk, and Hernando.

Duties of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the policy making body of the Chamber. It represents a broad cross section of the business and professional leadership of the community. A Director’s responsibility is to ensure the successful implementation of programs and activities which benefit the Members of the organization. They are to represent the Chamber at public and private functions, become acquainted with current and prospective members and familiarize themselves with the interests of the community.

Board of Directors Requirements
All members of the Board shall be Members, or representatives of Members, in good standing with the Chamber prior to their appointment, and shall so remain at all times during their tenure.
a.) Attend at least six (6) Chamber related functions per quarter.
b.) Call new or existing members as requested on a regular basis.
c.) Provide/generate at least $2,500 in memberships or sponsorships.
d.) The Board of Directors Requirements are estimated to be a commitment to the Chamber of approximately four (4) to six (6) hours per month.
e.) Attend monthly Board meetings and in-person January retreat.

Term of Service
Each Director shall serve a two (2) year term, with the term commencing January 1st of the year immediately following appointment to the board and terminating December 31st of the second year. Directors may elect to serve two (2) consecutive terms. Upon completion of two (2) consecutive elected terms, Directors may not be eligible for re-election until one (1) year has elapsed.
