Suncoast Credit Union donates $850,000 to Hurricane relief efforts across 13 organizations
Suncoast Credit Union’s central mission is making a difference in the lives of their members, and a huge part of that is having a positive presence in the communities it serves. As Floridians recovered from the horrific impacts of the hurricanes, Suncoast pledged $850,000 in donations to support recovery efforts across the state.
The funds were distributed across 13 nonprofit organizations to provide crisis management, hunger relief, and educational support in areas left most vulnerable by the storms.
Here’s how the donations were broken down:
- American Red Cross: $250,000
- Tri County Resource Center: $100,000
- United Way Suncoast: $75,000
- Feeding Tampa Bay: $75,000
- Hillsborough Education Foundation: $70,000
- Charlotte Education Foundation: $50,000
- Education Foundation of Manatee County: $50,000
- Pasco Education Foundation: $50,000
- Education Foundation of Sarasota County: $50,000
- Dixie Board of Public Instruction: $10,000
- Gilchrist Education Foundation: $10,000

Suncoast’s mission is to help families rebuild and support schools and students in getting the resources they need. Their commitment continues beyond the storms’ wakes to address both immediate and long-term needs of the hardest hit communities.
